The SnowMan Golfer Glossary

A Mostly Serious Guide to Not-So-Serious Golf

Snowman Golfer
noun
A golfer who plays infrequently, inconsistently, and optimistically, yet remains committed to having a good time regardless of the score. Defined less by ability than attitude. Life is still great with an eight.

Snowman Golf
noun
A style of golf marked by chaos, hope, poor decisions, and the occasional miracle shot that resets expectations to unsafe levels.

Snowman
noun
An eight on the scorecard. A state of mind. A reminder that expectations were the real problem.

Stallone
noun
A violently over-the-top swing so steep and aggressive it makes Stallone’s arm-wrestling masterpiece Over the Top feel restrained. Often results in unexpected turf removal.

Dump Truck
noun
A putting stroke or swing executed with all the grace and finesse of a dump truck on a dirt road. Power present. Touch absent.

DeVito

John Wick Driver (Post-Puppy)

A driver with no restraint, no forgiveness, and a personal vendetta against the golf course.

Hooligan Special
noun
Any six-pack of beer served in a plastic bag filled with ice. Universally correct.

Kicking Wedge
noun
A subtle foot-based correction used to restore cosmic balance when the course has clearly acted in bad faith. Never used when money is involved. Morality applies.

Sunday Bagel

Blading a bunker shot so violently it becomes a danger to others. Low. Fast. Unforgivable.

Duck Hook

A beautiful, predictable right-curving drive that is elegant in flight and completely useless in practice.

Pirate Pointing
verb
The act of lining up a putt by pointing at the hole with a random number (Finger point method), one eye closed, like a pirate who should not be trusted. Strongly correlated with bad outcomes.

Miracle Shot
noun
A single perfect swing that erases months of bad golf and convinces you to keep playing. Responsible for most future suffering.

Life Is Still Great With an Eight
axiom
The foundational Snowman Golfer belief. The scorecard forgets. Your wrists don’t.

Self-Sponsored
noun
A golfer fully outfitted head to toe in matching branded gear – clubs, bag, glove, hat, balls – funded entirely out of their own pocket, still shooting snowmen with the confidence of a tour pro.

Old Man Golf
Verb
The act of playing boring, safe golf all day – short irons, conservative shots, managed misery – in pursuit of a lower score. Effective. Deeply emasculating.
